HEJ: Interface to Ariadne

a High Energy Physics Monte Carlo generator for multi-jet analyses.
Authors: Jeppe R. Andersen and Jennifer M. Smillie
Interface to ARIADNE: Jeppe R. Andersen, Leif L. Lonnblad, Jennifer M. Smillie

This page describes how to install and run the interface between HEJ and ARIADNE, in order to obtain fully HEJ summed, showered, and hadronised events. Please first check that the standard version of HEJ will run on your platform (check Installation). That page also contains information on the run-time parameters for HEJ.

The complete package for HEJ+ARIADNE (v. 0.999b) is available here.

Please read the file 'README' for important information on the use of the program.

The figures below are taken from Measurements of jet vetoes and azimuthal decorrelations in dijet events produced in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV using the ATLAS detector (arXiv:1407.5756). The first plot a slight improvement in the description of the average number of jets vs. the hardest dijet rapidity difference in dijet events, when the partonic HEJ predictions are matched to a parton shower (ARIADNE). The second plot shows (as expected) a much large corrections in the cases where there is a large hierarchy between transverse scales. These are the situations where the partonic HEJ does not give a good description. However, it is seen that merging the description with the parton shower ARIADNE brings the description in line with data.
